June 8th-12th: Painting & Drawing (Entering Grades 3-6)

When: 9am-1:30pm Monday June 8th through Friday June 12th 

For: Upper elementary students entering grades 3 thru 6

What: Explore the Power of Color & learn new Painting & Drawing techniques. Students will work with color, shading AND contrast WHILE learning observational drawing techniques inspired by the natural world. They will practice shading, look at textures and work with amazing, vibrant & fun color schemes. 

Materials you can expect to try during this camp: Watercolor, gouache, acrylic paint, charcoal, pencil drawing, oil pastels, fun with black paper & more! We will most likely also try printmaking with this group! 

What to Bring: a peanut free lunch, your water bottle and dress for mess (snacks also provided). Please join us for a student art show on Friday at 1pm.

Outings at 50th & France: We will take one walking field trip to Sweet Science for Ice Cream and one day for Starbucks (students can select one $5.00 item at each location no additional cost) On Wednesdays, we walk to the park for a picnic lunch and will try sketching en plein air. 

This course is taught by Liz Genrich who is a licensed Visual Arts instructor in MN.
