This specialty workshop is a hands-on introduction to the art of Japanese floral arrangement. Students will create a unique Thanksgiving centerpiece while learning the principles of Ikebana. The class will cover basic arrangement techniques and give guided hands-on practice in the creation of an intentional seasonal centerpiece. Included in the price are seasonal flowers and branches, a vase and floral materials that will be used to create one arrangement to take home.
This workshop is taught by Mahsa Hansen,a designer and visual artist bringing together a Parsons NY fine arts foundation, two decades of graphic design, and a hands-on practice in botanical styling. Guided by organic aesthetics, slow craftsmanship, and functional beauty, she creates visual stories and environments that connect meaningfully to the world around us.
