Art as Resistance Creative Meet Ups - grades 3-7
Art as Resistance Creative Meet Ups - grades 3-7
Throughout history art has been used as a form of resistance.
North Star Art Club is glad we can offer 2x supportive & flexible Creative Meet Up sessions to build community in our studio workspace for creatives wishing to process our current experiences and stressors. These free flow creative sessions will begin by looking at artists and drawing inspiration from those who have challenged the status quo such as Shirin Neshat & Ai Weiwei. We will then move into your own flexible time to creatively explore the studio and channel your personal passions & interests into your art.
Art making brings us together, reduces stress, helps us envision a more hopeful future and can help us communicate things that are sometimes too difficult to put into words.
During our first session we will explore Watercolor Resist Techniques.
Ages: Students 3rd-7th and Advanced 2nd okay as we are a small space.
Friday Session: Please bring your water bottle and a peanut free lunch.
